Ramsay Health Care shareholder meetings are usually very staid affairs, but that is set to change next month with a mysterious interloper making her bid for the health care provider’s blue-chip boardroom.
Seeking election to the board, alongside former Telstra chief executive David Thodey, is another former Telstra employee with a very different career trajectory: Carlie Alisa Ramsay.
“The directors unanimously recommend that you vote against this resolution,” said the company notice on her nomination for the board.
Ms Ramsay has gone by at least two other names, according to the government-run Australian Business Register (ABR).
Under one previous name, Carlie Streeter, she helped rewrite the industrial relations rule book when it came to acceptable behaviour at company Christmas parties.
Ms Ramsay, as she is now known, was fired in 2007 after a sex romp with two male employees in a private hotel room following the work party. She had shared the room with a number of female colleagues, and Telstra claimed that her behaviour sexually harassed her colleagues.
